New marketing boss at Hailo as taxi app expands

September 25, 2014

Taxi app Hailo has appointed Gary Bramall as its Global Chief Marketing Officer as the taxi app continues to expand globally.

Moving from his role as Senior Global Brand Experience Director at Microsoft, Bramall will head up the Hailo marketing team, playing a key role in the future expansion and evolution of the company.
London-based Hailo is continuing to expand its global footprint within the mobile transportation industry with a series of innovations including Pay with Hailo and a public API, which allows third party developers access to the extensive Hailo network of drivers.
The app lets users hail taxis through their mobile phones, giving cab drivers the tools to compete with companies that have mobile based hire and payment technologies such as Uber.
The new Pay with Hailo feature lets passengers to pay for their street-hailed taxis through the app, as opposed to using cash or a credit card. (Users can also use the company’s e-hail feature to find a cab as well.)
“We are thrilled to welcome Gary to the Hailo team and we are looking forward to tapping his innovative strategic marketing and communications skills to build on the initiatives we already have in place,” Hailo CEO Tom Barr said. “I’m excited to see what bringing in someone with his creativity and outstanding reputation in the tech industry will do as he further helps us build our brand’s message. With Gary on board, Hailo will continue to grow in strides and extend our brand to new regions and new services.”
Bramall added: “I believe that there are endless possibilities when people, brands and technology come together, and Hailo embodies that ethos. With many exciting developments such as the recent launch of Pay with Hailo, a Singapore JV and much more, Hailo continues to bring its consumers and drivers closer together by providing access to new demographics and markets. I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Hailo and helping to tell their world class story to consumers all over the globe.”
