Global mobile trends: Apple beating Samsung in mobile ad battle

Apple has widened its lead over Samsung in terms of global ad impressions, despite the growing popularity of the Korean manufacturer’s devices, according to a new report.

Adfonic’s Global AdMetrics Report for Q3 2012, shows that Apple and Samsung devices accounted for nine of the top 10 mobile devices by share of ad impressions.
Apple’s share of ad impressions increased from 34% in Q2 to 37%, while Samsung’s increased from 23% in Q2 to 24%. This meant that, while Apple and Samsung both increased their share of global ad impressions quarter on quarter, Apple actually extended its lead by 2 percentage points, to 13 percentage points.

New mobile devices experienced rapid adoption, with Samsung’s Galaxy S3 reaching the global top ten by share of ad impressions within one quarter of launch.
The report also indicated that Real-time Bidding (RTB) provided huge uplift for buyers and sellers across all channels.
Adfonic’s Glo Victor Malachard, Adfonic’s CEO, said: “It is significant that, even though Samsung is making huge inroads in device ownership and gaining mobile advertising share, it is still losing ground to Apple. And these results don’t take into account the impact of new Apple devices such as the iPhone 5, the iPad Mini and the new iPad, which will be felt during Q4.
Meanwhile new Samsung products such as the Galaxy S3 Mini will also start to appear. It’ll be very interesting to see how the Apple v. Samsung rivalry plays out during Q4.”
Apple and Samsung devices dominate Adfonic’s platform for share of ad impressions. Apple occupied the top two positions, with its iPhone and iPod Touch devices accounting for 29.3% and 4.8% of ad impressions globally. Samsung took seven of the top ten positions with its Android-based Galaxy range of devices.
In North America, Google’s Nexus 7 tablet achieved tenth place by ad impressions, accounting for 1.4% of the region’s total impressions within five months of its June 2012 launch.
The channel with the strongest RTB performance was Social Networking, which generated clickthrough rates (CTRs) of 127% more than the average for non-RTB inventory, and effective earnings per thousand impressions (eCPMs) 663% higher than the average for non-RTB.
The next strongest performing channels for buyers were Entertainment, with 82% higher CTRs, and News, Sport & Information, with 71% higher CTRs.
Victor Malachard, CEO of Adfonic, commented: “The fact that we’re seeing significantly stronger performance from RTB across all channels is an indication of how the mobile display advertising industry is changing. Programmatic mobile buying is proving itself through concrete results, and RTB will emerge as the dominant way to buy mobile media, especially when tied to the direct and broad access enabled through Demand-side Platforms (DSPs) such as Adfonic’s Madison.”

  4. You're going to hate this answer, but it's the truth. Start by getting a job with an agency, as receptionist or CSR. Honestly, with NO experience, you have NO idea how the whole insurance/agency system works, or even if you're going to like it. If you work for someone else for a couple years, you'll learn the ins and outs, make valuable contacts, and have someone paying YOU to learn how to solve problems. If you don't want that, you can always contact State Farm, Farmers, or Allstate, and see if they'll sign you on as a captive agent. Then you have to self study, pass the tests, and go out and sell – you don't get paid, unless you sell – it's straight commission work, and the "mentoring" isn't nearly so strong as it is if you're working for someone else. Plus, there are more up front costs, such as YOUR liabiltiy and E&O insurance, office supplies, etc, so you'll need some cash to start up. And if you hate it, you're out the cash. If you're starting your own office, you need to work 60-80 hour weeks at first, just to scrape by. If you're good, and work yourself that hard, you *might* make $40,000 the first year. Just enough to keep afloat. 95% of agents wash out the first year. If you either can't sell, or don't want to put in those kind of hours, you're going to wash out.   5. (Wireless Phone Accessory) I really liked the look and feel off this case. It adds almost no bulk to the phone, and does a great job of protecting the screen. Unfortunately I’ve only had mine a week, and the bottom left corner (starting at the hinge) has begun to split and fray. I didn’t subject it to any unusual abuse, it’s just been in and out of my pocket the whole time. Perhaps it’s because I often fold the cover all the way behind the phone so I can better hold it and access the volume control. It’s also possible I just got a bad one (I’m going to go back to the Sprint store to replace it, and I’ll update this review if the new one holds up better).   7. Прочитал все комментарии, начиная с 1 сайта (этот уже 2, продолжение). Хочу сказать следующие, что не правильно было это запрещать продажу ламп накаливания, выбор всегда должен быть, правильно кто то выше пример привел, что свечи же не запрещают. А лично сам имел следующий опыт, купил 5 рожковую люстру в зал, ну и решил сразу попробовать энергосберегающие лампы, купил 6 ламп «Phlight», самых дешевых, рублей за 150, но при это самых мощных 40Вт, так как еще тогда сомневался в их чудо отдаче мол 30Вт энергосберегайка равняется 150Вт лампе накаливания, одну специально про запас взял, помню как продавщица еще посмеивалась, мол зачем вам на про запас одна, и этим ни чего не буде лет 5, наивно полагал что так оно и будет, сейчас вкручу и забуду. Как только установил очень сильно разочаровался, так как от этих 5 света не было, про синий оттенок я уже молчу, глаза постоянно уставали не только у меня но и у жены. В то время у нас родился сын, и если я его снимал на видеокамеру при лампах накаливания, то запись нормальная была, а если на этих энергосберегающих, то съемка была все темная и синия, просто ужас. Думал привыкну, но шло время а дискомфорт был такой же. Через месяц перегорела 1, хотя на коробке написано 3 года гарантии, 8000 часов на отказ, думал просто брак, и достал купленную про запас лампу. Через некоторое время перегорела еще одна, хотя я как положено к ним руками никогда не прикасался, а так как запаса больше не было, то поставил обычную лампу накаливанию, и о чудо в комнате наконец то стало светлее и комфортнее. В итоге за пол года перегорели 5 шт, которые заменял обычными, радуясь каждой новой перегоревшей лампе, сейчас осталось только одна энергосберегающая, живучая, быстрей бы и она перегорела. Тем временем закупаю обычные лампы накаливания, чтоб хватило на несколько лет. Что касается сторонников знергосберегающих:1. На счет света вы скажите что сейчас есть много разных оттенков свечения у энергосберегающих, но зачем мне эти заморочки если у лам накаливания и так тот свет к которому я привык.2. Энергосберегайки не любят частого включения выключения, это вообще головная боль, вот я должен думать постоянно что не стоит выключать, т.к. мне ее надо будет опять включать через некоторое время, или наоборот ладно выключу, ведь включать опять не скоро буду, вот мне больше делать нечего как голову этим забивать, то ли дело обычные лампы, захотел включил, захотел выключил, заÑ
