AOL debuts gaming destination site games.com

AOL has launched a multi-platform gaming platform ‘games.com’ for mobile and desktop PC users alike.

Games.com offers more than 5,000 free online games, a large library of mobile games, plus new engagement and personalisation features.
“AOL users have always been passionate about gaming and we’re excited to give them an industry-leading experience that operates fluidly across all devices,” said John Fox, General Manager, Games.com. “We’re focused on creating an experience that allows users to discover, play and share games.”
Built on new technologies like HTML5, the site allows each player to find his or her favourite games as well as highlighting a new game each day and suggesting related games.
Games.com players will also have easy access to gaming history, badges, points and rankings via the new Social Bar.
AOL has struck partnerships with game developers including Arkadium, Big Fish Games, GameHouse, Iplay, Masque Publishing, Mochi Media, and Tylted, Games.com offers players a robust library that includes over 5,000 free online games.
“This is just the start,” said Fox. “We have an exciting roadmap of new features and enhancements which will roll out over the coming months—including additional personalization and social features, opportunities for independent developers to work closely with us and many more games our users will love.”
