Cross platform messaging app PingMe gets revamp

January 30, 2013

RadiumOne has launched PingMe Messenger 2.0, a redesign of its cross-platform messaging app with over 3 million users.

This latest version includes social messaging and a ‘question and answer’ feature that enables people to initiate a conversation with their friends and family by asking their questions, and posting responses within groups and across the entire PingMe community.
According to a recent report by Nielsen, time spent on social media in the U.S. across both personal computer and mobile devices grew 37 percent to reach 121 billion minutes in July 2012, up from 88 billion minutes in July 2011.
Mobile devices are fueling these numbers, with consumers’ time spent using social media mobile apps and mobile websites accounting for 63 percent of the year-over-year growth.
Forty-six percent of social media users say they use their smartphones to access social media, and 16 percent say they use social media on a tablet.
