TalkTalk expands into mobile market with £5 tarrifs

December 13, 2012

TalkTalk is expanding beyond its landline phone and broadband packages with a new mobile phone service in the UK.

TalkTalk Mobile will offer a range of Smartphones, with prices starting from £5 a month with 3 plans.
The new product offering coincides with the exclusive launch of the TalkTalk Mobile affiliate programme with global performance network, Affiliate Window.
The performance channel is part of TalkTalk’s overall marketing strategy to promote the brand entering the mobile market and expanding its range of products going forward.
The TalkTalk Broadband programme has seen huge success through its exclusive performance marketing programme with Affiliate Window, and the new mobile launch is set to resonate the same success.
The brand has accomplished an 863% YOY increase in sales as well as a 37% increase in the number of active publishers promoting the programme.
“The mobile handset market is a very exciting area that we have been eager to enter for some time,” says Patrick Lynch, Senior Online Marketing Manager for TalkTalk. “We have had great results with Affiliate Window for our broadband products, which consistently deliver significant sales volumes, and we are planning for our mobile offering to do the same.”
The focus of the TalkTalk Mobile launch is to spread awareness of the brand in the mobile market and to build upon the portfolio of key publisher partners already in place while looking to acquire and retain a loyal customer following.
Anthony Clements, Director of Client Services for Affiliate Window says: “The expansion of the TalkTalk business into the mobile market is a fantastic next step for the brand. We’ve enjoyed a highly successful relationship with TalkTalk, having managed their phone and broadband programme alongside their agency partner MSix for a number of years. This is an exciting opportunity for Affiliate Window to work collaboratively with MSix and TalkTalk to grow their mobile proposition in what is one of the largest affiliate marketing verticals in the UK. As m-commerce and the growth of mobile continue, we look forward to the exciting developments and new product launches in the pipeline for TalkTalk.”
The SIM offering is only the beginning of a much larger proposition. The programme will initially offer three SIM only plans exclusive to its existing customers.
