Samsung Galaxy S3 is the most anticipated smartphone as of late. For the first time, the Korean company has managed to create a buzz around its new product comparable to Apple’s iconic smartphones. Hi-Tech@Mail.Ru conducted a survey of 12,000 users to learn about their expectations of the Galaxy S3.
An increased battery life (33%) was the main demand for the new phnone, which is often seen as a weak point of the Android software platform. However, according to the experts at Hi-Tech@Mail.Ru, due to the peculiarities of the operating system, Samsung will have to work miracles to live up to these expectations.
The remaining expectations are as follows: in the second place is that there will be a more powerful processor (19%), in the third – higher screen resolution (13%), in the fourth – a ceramic body (11%). The surprising thing is that the camera didn’t get into the four most popular answers.
In the second survey conducted by Hi-Tech@Mail.Ru, users voted for the most anticipated new product. There were two options: Samsung Galaxy S III and Apple iPhone 5. The Korean smartphone won this vote (58%). The American competitor scored 42% of votes respectively.
Around 29,000 users participated in the survey of Hi-Tech@Mail.Ru.
The comparison of expectations from the new products by Samsung and Apple has shown that respondents still consider iPhone to be more prestigious (76%) and more expensive (89%).
Also, the brainchild of Apple, as thought by users, is ahead in terms of its design (65%), battery life (61%) and convenience (58%).
However, the expectations in terms of the speed of work, screen and memory are almost identical. Samsung, is expected to be slimmer (65%), lighter (66%) and released earlier (82%). Besides this, the Galaxy S3, as respondents think, will have a better camera (59%).
“Apple is seeing the end of calm times on the market of expensive touch smartphones. Over a couple of years, Samsung has grown into a very powerful competitor”, Dmitry Ryabinin, Hi-Tech@Mail.Ru chief analyst, comments. “The next step for the Korean company will be enhancement of brand loyalty. Despite all the advantages of Galaxy S, the prestige of owning Apple products is still beyond competition. The new smartphone by Samsung is the first step in the fight not only for the wallets, but also for the minds of customers”.
