RadiumOne brings social and mobile ad network to UK

March 7, 2011

Online ad network RadiumOne has launched in the UK, following its launch in the US last year.

RadiumOne lets advertisers, publishers and agencies use social data and reach the open web.
Many brands have invested in social sites, such as Facebook, but this is restricted view, as you can only reach those within those sites’ walls.
RadiumOne claims it can identify consumers that are best aligned with a brand’s consumer base in much larger numbers than its competitors, with a Click Through Rate (CTR) is 400 percent higher than advertising on social networks and 360 percent higher than the top four ad networks’ average.
Commercially launched in the US in 2010, the company is the latest venture by Gurbaksh Chahal, who previously founded ClickAgents and Blue Lithium, which were sold to ValueClick and Yahoo respectively.
The European expansion will be headed up by Rupert Staines, formerly of Specific Media.
Rupert Staines, Managing Director, RadiumOne UK Ltd. said: “The internet in 2011 has evolved into an increasingly social platform, rather than one only used for search and information gathering, as more and more consumers use it primarily to connect with friends and peers to share ideas and content. Many advertisers have not realised they can market to consumers based on their likes, connections and social interactions across the Open web. That’s where RadiumOne comes in. We want to own social on the open web by defining it by our ShareGraph.”
Rupert joins RadiumOne from Specific Media, where he was a Senior Vice President. His online advertising experience goes back to 1998, when he opened offices for Valueclick Inc. in London, Paris, Munich, and Madrid and ran European operations through the company’s successful IPO in 2000.
He will lead RadiumOne’s European expansion, starting with the London office and will be responsible for launching the company’s flagship product, RadiumOne, as well as RadiumOne Social and RadiumOne Mobile. The company is already working with leading clients in the UK
Gurbaksh Chahal, CEO, RadiumOne said: “We have developed a product that finally taps into web users social connections, which opens up a whole new world of opportunities to advertisers, agencies and publishers alike, now they can target the Open Web. We are hugely excited to be launching in the UK and Rupert is definitely the man to lead the charge in Europe.”
RadiumOne’s European operations will be headquartered in central London with an office on The Strand.
Staines is currently recruiting several big name industry figures to join the team and to roll out RadiumOne across Europe.
