SpotX boosts publisher team for Europe expansion

March 10, 2016

Video inventory platform SpotX is expanding its supply-side operations for UK and Southern Europe with the appointment of Robert Greaves as Supply Operations Manager and Julian Strutt as Business Development Manager.

Joining from Brightroll, Greaves and Strutt will work with publishers and broadcasters in the UK and Southern Europe to maximise their video advertising revenue. Based in London, they will report to Managing Director for the UK and Southern Europe, Léon Siotis.

Greaves and Strutt will work with publishers, broadcasters and app developers to create private marketplaces and Curated Marketplaces for video, mobile video, connected TV and advertising revenue strategies for linear TV.

Commenting on the appointments, Léon Siotis, Managing Director, UK and Southern Europe at SpotX, explains, “With years of experience in video advertising between them, both Strutt and Greaves can offer seasoned advice to publishers and broadcasters on the best optimisation techniques to improve their performance for advertisers and their agencies, and maximise their advertising revenue. Greaves employs his analytical and scientific skills to effectively manage algorithms whilst Strutt brings a wealth of commercial experience and industry relationships which will benefit the supply side and help business grow in the UK, and across Europe.”

Robert Greaves, Supply Operations Manager at SpotX adds, “Video is a hugely impactful format that works well for advertisers and publishers alike. It has good reporting metrics that translate to good user uplift and at SpotX, I can offer my buy-side experience to help European publishers and broadcasters understand what buyers are looking for in terms of inventory opportunities, quality and prices.”

Julian Strutt, Business Development Manager, SpotX, continues, “SpotX has retained its start-up approach, proactively working directly with publishers to impact their business as the company expands business across Europe. This is a fast-growing industry and SpotX is leading the field with the launch of new products such as Curated Marketplaces, and the SpotX In-Content Unit, which provides incremental revenue for publishers who do not have video content. I look forward to working on more innovative projects in the coming years.

Julian Strutt brings eight years of digital publishing experience, including two years at Brightroll, which was acquired by Yahoo! in 2014. At Brightroll, Strutt developed the European supply strategy and worked with publishers such as Lagardere, Future, Piemme, VICE and Prisa. Robert Greaves worked on video, mobile, display and native advertising campaign optimisation at Yahoo! which followed a role in advertising operations for ValueClick Media.

Greaves and Strutt will work with Rahul Bathia who joined the team in 2015 from RAPP Media, and who is promoted to Account Manager.
