MCC launches new Lord’s website for cricket fans

May 14, 2013

Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has re-launched its website, with a range of new features and developments for cricket fans.

The website works across desktop, tablet and mobile devices, with a revamped search facility for more complex queries.
Every match at Lord’s throughout the summer will be featured on a new Match Day Centre which will bring the Lord’s scoreboards direct to your internet-enabled device.
In addition on Major Match days at the Ground users will be able to keep up to date with all the action on the field through a live blog, alongside being able to experience exclusive video and audio content from behind the scenes.
For historical enthusiasts, MCC’s online collections are now available to explore in greater detail, offering insight into the history of the game.
MCC Members will have access to a tailored section of the new site, The Pavilion, which serves additional content, while the Club’s 500 strong Out Match fixture list is now organised via a new Fixture Manager section.
Commenting on the launch of the new Lord’s website, MCC Chief Executive & Secretary, Derek Brewer said: “MCC is a multifaceted operation and this website successfully brings together the Club’s diverse range of activities, in cricket, at Lord’s and elsewhere. One of the Club’s key objectives is to ensure Lord’s is the best place in the world to watch cricket, and this website – coupled with the availability of free WiFi access at the Ground – represents another stride towards ensuring that this is the case.”
Founded in 1787 MCC is the guardian of the Laws and Spirit of Cricket, and represents an independent voice in the world game.
It is also the world’s most active cricket-playing club, and alongside fulfilling over 500 cricket fixtures every year, MCC also owns and maintains Lord’s Cricket Ground.
In 2012 MCC signed a five year deal with WiFi provider The Cloud to install high-speed public WiFi at Lord’s.
