Shopping.com debuts 30 minute price updates

July 18, 2011

Shopping comparison site Shopping.com has launched its Rapid Price Update system (RPU) ensuring prices on the site are updated within 30 minutes.

Retailers’latest deals and price cuts will be mirrored on Shopping.com within half an hour, rather than 24 hours as they were previously.
Shopping.com claims to be the first UK comparison shopping site to give retailers the ability to update their prices every 30 minutes.
Russ Carroll, UK Managing Director for Shopping.com, said: “We are very pleased to be launching our Rapid Price Update system which is a first for the UK industry and will ensure even better conversion for our retailers, as they can reflect their very latest offers and deals on Shopping.com in record time.”
Michelle Helme, Marketing Manager from dabs.com, said: “In a competitive market place, pricing is everything and it is vital to show the latest offers and deals. The new Rapid Price Update system from Shopping.com is a very welcome step forward for the shopping comparison industry and we look forward to uplift in conversion as a result.”
The new system also means the probability of a consumer seeing an incorrect price, out of stock item or incorrect shipping information reduces dramatically.
