BBC extends CBeebies website to 'Grown-ups'

May 24, 2011

The BBC has hired marketing consultancy MumPanel to help redevelop its ‘Grown-ups’ side of the CBeebies website.

The broadcast giant aims to inspire greater parent/child interaction through the site, which it plans to fully re-launch in Summer 2011.
North West-based MumPanel is engaging with the nation’s parents and guardians, including mums, dads, and grandparents, on behalf of BBC Interactive, to find out what they would like to see on the site and how they would use the service to aid their children’s learning and play.
The insight from MumPanel is being used in the developmental process of the website and the MumPanel team has been on hand to ensure positive and accurate interpretation throughout the project phases.
Additionally, MumPanel is working with parents and guardians to contribute tips and stories to the new site as well as researching Social Media channels for the launch of the new CBeebies Grown-ups Facebook and Twitter pages.
Lynne Barcoe, Founder of MumPanel said of the project: “It’s really exciting that a well-respected brand that markets to children is now engaging with their parents and guardians and speaking to them throughout product and service development. I hope we will see more of it from other brands that market to children and parents.
“We were very keen to work with CBeebies on the new Grown-ups section because of our specialist expertise in the parent/child market and our extensive connections to parents, grandparents and teachers across the UK. We’re helping the BBC to understand what its audience wants from the service and to bring those needs to life for more successful products and services.”
MumPanel has helped many of the nation’s consumer brands with better parent-focused marketing, including Mamas and Papas, Soreen and Organix.
