Sky begins SEO campaign with Greenlight

November 29, 2010

Sky has appointed search marketing and technology firm, Greenlight, to work on search engine optimisation (SEO) campaigns across its range of products and services.

The move marks part of the broadcaster’s drive to get high quality traffic to Sky’s online properties.
Digital plays an increasingly integral role across Sky’s business, encompassing customer acquisitions, customer service, brand and marketing, online products and services (such as Sky Player) and online publishing (the Sky Portal, which includes Skysports.com and Skynews.com).
Greenlight will work on all of Sky’s transaction and content-related sites (the Group portfolio), to improve online rankings, traffic and sales through the sites.
John Orriss, Director of Subscriber Growth and Sales, BSkyB, comments: “Digital is becoming central to what we do at Sky. Successfully engaging with our customers online is getting ever more important, so to continue our leadership in this area we need to make sure we are working with the right mix of digital expertise, and experienced partners in the industry. This comprehensive review has provided us with a roster of partners who are leaders in their respective fields, and we look forward to working closely with them to maximise the impact of our investment in digital.”
Andreas Pouros, Chief Operating Officer at Greenlight comments: “We are delighted to be working with Sky, a media company that is increasingly putting digital at the forefront of its future. We are excited by the prospect of helping it deliver great results for its many leading brands, and pleased that Sky has chosen Greenlight to handle its SEO requirements.”
