IAB Player offers video ‘how to’ guides for digital marketers

October 13, 2010

Providing content suitable for brands, agencies and new starters to the industry, IAB Player has been designed to inform those who are simply too busy to digest weighty whitepapers or spend time searching for the best B2B online content.
The site will host a library of educational videos created in-house at the IAB. These include ‘how to’ guides on a number of digital disciplines such as video, social media, gaming, lead generation and behavioural, alongside interviews with digital experts and senior industry figures, plus snapshots of the latest in digital creativity.
In addition, IAB Player contains exclusive content starring more well-known characters such as Stephen Fry, Martha Lane Fox and even Mr Motivator.
The IAB will be inviting its followers to submit new online videos to the site to create a user-generated hub of the industry’s best and most original content. Visitors to the site will be able to share and embed videos, with the most popular ‘featured’ on the homepage each week.
IAB Player also boasts additional features including ‘Slide Synchronisation’ that enables presentations and videos to be viewed simultaneously, a ‘Glossary of Terms’ providing information on complicated keywords and an ‘Events Catch Up’ section hosting video from both IAB and IAB member digital advertising events.
The IAB and Indigo Papa will also be streaming key events such as IAB Engage 2010 live via the player, with many more experience-enhancing features to be added before the end of the year.
Indigo Papa is a fast growing online video and live broadcasting specialists with clients including The London Stock Exchange, Fortnum & Mason, MTV, Panasonic and a range of the top digital agencies including Dare Digital. They focus closely on a number of B2B, educational and training markets where they are presently implementing a number of “social” video based solutions, which will be rolled out via IAB Player over the coming months.
Guy Phillipson, CEO of the Internet Advertising Bureau said: “Many IAB initiatives are launched as a response to what the industry demands, and online video is becoming the best way to reach UK brands and agencies who need to keep up with digital trends. The IAB Player is designed to aggregate the best educational video content in the UK, and celebrate the sheer diversity of the medium.”
Alex Bridges, founder and CTO of Indigo Papa said: “Indigo Papa are very proud to form a collaborative partnership with the IAB to support and develop an online video strategy that delivers real value across live events, training sessions and their website. We’re keen to present the IAB’s great content in fresh and innovative ways cross platform/device, showcase best practices and provide inspiration to members and wider community.”
