Portsmouth FC launches gaming sites

November 8, 2010

Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is first charitable beneficiary in Pompey’s ace new gaming partnership with Genting Alderney.

Portsmouth Football Club has launched its new gaming partnership with casino operator Genting Alderney.
Fans will be able to take a spin of the roulette wheel or practice their poker faces all from the comfort of their armchairs in Pompey’s new online casino and poker rooms. As well as exclusive tournaments for fans, the partnership is set to raise money for a number of local charities with a percentage of all revenues going to good causes.

“We know that in their spare time, many fans enjoy playing a little poker or casino games on the internet,” said Peart. “Therefore, we wanted to bring Pompey fans their own gaming sites and exclusive tournaments just for them. We chose Genting as our gaming partner, because they are as passionate about football as we are at Fratton Park and they embrace the same community spirit that we pride ourselves in. The partnership means we will be raising funds to go back in to the community with local charities. The first of those is the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund.”
Peter Nolan, MD of Genting Alderney added: “Pompey fans are arguably the most loyal and competitive fans in the league and we are confident that they will enjoy their own gaming environment as well. We can create poker leagues and exclusive tournaments just for Pompey fans, and the Club is supporting those with some sensational prizes.”
At the time of writing, more than 200 players had already registered for the fans first freeroll tournament tonight.
Through the clubs website, Pompey fans playing in the casino or poker rooms could win a host of great prizes from their first £10 deposit.
Monthly prizes include a £100 shopping spree in the Portsmouth FC Club shop and a pair of VIP tickets for the QPR game on November 9th.
The Club has donated a pair of Director’s Box tickets and pre-match dinner in the Boardroom for both of the home games against Burnley (4th December) and Leeds (22nd January). Fans just need to enter the promo code POMPEYFC, when they register.
