Amazon Prime Day revealed (as it woos new members with subscription discount)

June 30, 2017

Amazon has revealed that its third annual Prime Day will take place on and around 11th J?July 2017, enticing new members with a reduced subscription fee.

Prime Day 2017 is officially on July 11, but Amazon is adding six more hours of shopping this year, presumably to cash in on a second lucrative evening shopping spree.

The day of discounts is only available to Prime members, and will start at 6pm UK time on July 10 (Monday), and run until the end of July 11.

You’ll need to be a Prime subscriber to take part in Prime Day, which costs £80 per year in the UK and $99 in the US.

Until July 3, though, you can sign up for just £60 for the first year. This deal only applies to new customers: existing, loyal, long-term Prime users can’t avail themselves of the £20 discount.

In addition, you can always sign up for a free 30-day trial.

The first teaser from the second season of The Grand Tour will also be unveiled on Prime Day.

As before, there’ll be deals that last for the duration of Prime Day, and also some Lightning Deals that pop up throughout the 30-hour window.

In the lead-up to Prime Day 2017, Amazon has a few smaller deals available: new users can sign up for Amazon Music Unlimited for 99p/99¢ for four months; if you stream Amazon Video between July 7 and 11 you’ll be entered into a £100,000 prize draw; and Prime users can save 40 percent on a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
