Video viral of the week: Temptations aims to stop Christmas Cat-astrophes with treats

November 16, 2016

Mars cat treat brand Temptations has launched a new Christmas video ad campaign highlighting the havoc cats can cause in the festive season.

The new campaign appropriately titled, “Keep Them Busy,” reminds cat owners to keep their felines occupied and treat them this holiday.

Created by Adam & Eve/DDB London and directed by Sam Brown of Rogue Films, the new holiday campaign centers around a humorous video featuring mischievous cats anxiously waiting to wreak havoc on a beautifully-decorated holiday wonderland. Once given the green light, the cats are released into the room – and the chaos begins. The cats bobble with the ornaments, claw on holiday sweaters, chew on beautifully wrapped gifts; that is until they hear the shake of the Tempatations treat bag, which stops them in their tracks and they clear the room.

“The internet is full of cats being cute and fluffy,” said Denise Truelove, Marketing Director, Cat Treats, Mars Petcare US. “The reality is cats are incredibly mischievous. That tension led to an entertaining and relatable Tempatations holiday video and campaign.”

The campaign is supported by a number of integrated marketing efforts, including TV, national print, social media posts, YouTube and partnerships on popular platforms such as Buzzfeed, Snapchat and Amazon.
