Choose your own adventure: Persol creates interactive comic on Instagram

April 22, 2016

Iconic sunglasses brand Persol has launched an interactive graphic novel on social media, letting fans vote on what happens next in the story.

The campaign is part of Persol’s new “Meet the New Generation” campaign to promite its new range of sunglasses.

Created by ad agency Kettle, the story is illustrated in real-time by Jonathan Bartlett. The artist will draw new scenes after users collectively vote, with likes, for how the story should proceed.

In an article on Adweek.com, the brand states “The campaign puts users in the shoes of Frankie Malone, a rebel seeking to overthrow a regime that has outlawed free thought and stamped out individuality. It’s a classic dystopian thriller that takes its cues from films like Blade Runner, Gattaca and Minority Report while modernizing the story for the world of social media.”
