Marmite sells personalised jars on Facebook

November 10, 2015

Unilever’s Marmite has launched a personalisation campaign similar to Coca-Cola’s in order “to tap into the growing demand for personalised products”.

Consumers can personalise classic 250g Marmite jars with theirs or someone else’s name.

The personalised jars will be available to buy through a Facebook app, hosted on the Marmite Facebook page.

The customisable jars will also be sold at a pop-up store in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush shopping centre, London, from 23 November to 24 December.

Marmite assistant brand manager Philippa Atkinson said: “We’re delighted to be entering the growing market for personalised products. Marmite has an innate ability to create talkability and we believe our personalised jars will do just that.”

All three personalised Marmite products have a recommended retail price of £4.99.

An additional gift box is £1.00 and, if consumers purchase the jars via the Facebook app, there is a fixed delivery cost of £2.99.
