Wochit partners UN for video news content

March 11, 2019

Predictive video creation platform, Wochit, has announced a new, long-term partnership with the United Nations and its video news wire service, UNifeed.

This partnership further expands Wochit’s content library wit, international video content from the UN, enabling users to cover compelling global stories through the wide-ranging UNifeed library.

Available to all Wochit customers globally, the partnership allows Wochit video creators to incorporate timely video material with an international focus. Broadcast-quality video packages within the UNifeed service are drawn from across the United Nations with a rich mix of footage both from Headquarters and from the field. All material is also accompanied by shot lists and story synopses, further empowering users to rapidly respond to news and keep their audiences engaged.

“As video creation is becoming imperative to telling international stories quickly and at scale, we are excited to partner with UNifeed and take our global content offering to such new heights,” stated Joachim Schmaltz, VP Global Content Partnerships. “We strive to empower our video creators with the best possible tools and content, as and when they need them. Our collaboration with the UN, on the UNifeed service, further provides Wochit users with an easy and intuitive platform where they can tell their stories to the world, in real-time.”

“We are pleased to be partnering with Wochit and to have our content available to their array of users, globally”, said Joachim Harris, Deputy Director of the News and Media Division in the UN’s Department of Global Communications. “Offering content on the Wochit platform is an exciting way to increase the reach of our information products, bringing information about the United Nations to a wider global audience. We look forward to Wochit users incorporating United Nations content within their videos.”

As a provider of content to Wochit’s library, UNifeed joins an elite group that includes pre-licensed rights within the platform Reuters, Getty, Newsflare, AFP, AP, PA and more, who partner with Wochit to increase reach and monetisation opportunities.
