Hiscox revamps UK website with more personal experience

July 20, 2017

Specialist insurer Hiscox has launched a new UK website – designed and built by Amaze, the leading digital marketing, technology and commerce agency, in partnership with Drupal specialists CTI Digital.

The brief was to bring the brand to life online and use that as a means to engage insurance brokers and prospective customers (small business owners, start-ups, contractors and high value home owners) with Hiscox’s insurance offering.

While the insurance market is largely price driven, Hiscox goes against the grain by focusing on quality cover tailored to customers’ specific needs, that is fit for purpose in the unfortunate event that a client needs to claim.

The new site has a user friendly and intuitive design. For customers who are clear about what level of cover they need, selecting and purchasing insurance is simple and fast. For those who are less sure, useful content is provided to help them. The site also includes a new dedicated broker centre, which offers brokers easy access to all the product and policy information needed, enabling them to offer the best possible advice to their customers.

The project included upgrading the site to a Drupal platform and developing a highly bespoke design that more closely reflects the Hiscox brand values that include ‘courage’, ‘human’ and ‘quality’. As a key source of lead generation, the new website is responsive and optimised for all channels and demonstrates Hiscox’s commitment to creating quality products and services that meet customers’ needs.

The new site will also facilitate the capture of rich customer data, which will enable increased levels of personalisation for customers and ultimately improve their overall experience.

Stuart Mahoney, Head of Acquisition Marketing at Hiscox, comments: “We wanted to make the complex simple and provide our customers with a great experience when learning about and purchasing their insurance cover. We were also keen to build on our fantastic broker relationships, and further support them in delivering an excellent service to their clients.

We have a strong brand ethos of challenging convention and wanted our website design to reflect this. We’re really happy with the results.”

Joanna Hinchliffe, Business Director at Amaze, adds: “We are delighted to be working with Hiscox, leveraging our extensive experience of helping organisations optimise digital operations. The new website, which we have delivered with our partners CTI Digital, is the end product of a highly bespoke design process that truly demonstrates the brand’s strong positioning. The result is a website and enhanced brand experience that is in tune with the needs of its users and which successfully positions Hiscox as an innovator and specialist in its field. The work completed will also be a springboard for the rest of the Hiscox Group in the ongoing evolution of its global digital offering.”
