Coca-Cola rolls out AI-equipped vending machines in universities

July 13, 2017

Coca-Cola is using artificial intelligence in a new vending machine popping up in universities across the US, Australia and New Zealand.

Coca-Cola technology execs talked about the new app at the Mobilebeat 2017 event on Tuesday in San Francisco.

The new app “will allow you to order a Coca-Cola drink for yourself and a friend, then have it available on the vending machine. As humans, we build emotional connections to machines and with products,” Greg Chambers, global director of digital innovation at Coca-Cola, said during the session. “We will do this in new and exciting ways. You should enjoy the process of acquiring a Coke as much as you enjoy consuming a Coke

Coca-Cola will debut its new vending machine apps over the next fortnight at select locations in the US, Australia and New Zealand – allowing customers to order multiple drinks ahead of time ready for collection.
