Amazon Prime Day has become a major peak day for ecommerce market, but many think it’s all about Amazon Retail and Amazon Prime membership. However, the figures show that 3rd party retailers are also benefiting from this and are reporting massive sales volumes on the day.
This infographic from Volo Commerce shows that on Amazon Prime Day 2016 British merchants trading on Amazon saw a 38% YoY uplift in gross merchandise value. At the same time, during the week with Amazon Prime Day online retailers sold 80% more tech products, 60% more home and garden merchandise and 22% more fashion items compared with the previous week.
Amazon has not yet announced when it will hold this year’s Prime Day, but we do know it will take place in the second week of July. Last year, it fell on July 12th, and the year before was the 15th.
