TVPlayer focuses on games consoles, initially with Xbox launch

April 10, 2017

UK-based streaming service TVPlayer is now available to download on Xbox One and Xbox One S games consoles.

Xbox users now have access to 100+ TV channels, on demand and live – with no contract and on any device within the TVPlayer app. The TVPlayer Plus service will also be available to users for just £5.99 a month, offering an additional 25+ premium channels including Discovery Channel, TLC, Eurosport 1 and History, as well as a 7-day catch-up service.

Xbox users, with an Xbox One or an Xbox One S, who wish to download TVPlayer simply go to the app store and download the app for free in order to start enjoying the content. TVPlayer is the first TV viewing app available to Xbox gamers in the UK with 100+ broadcast channels.

Since being founded in 2014, TVPlayer can boast over 1 million active users and over 3 million app downloads in the UK. The TV viewing platform is already available across a range of devices, including desktop, iOS, Android, Windows 10, Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV and Samsung TV.

Rob Hodgkinson, Chief Operating Officer of TVPlayer, said: “We are pleased to announce that our fast-growing audience will now be able to enjoy our premium content on the Xbox. Games consoles, which generate over a third of all video views, represent a key pillar in our platform strategy. Xbox is the first games console to launch with TVPlayer and we anticipate further launches over the coming months.”
