Line takes on Instagram and Snapchat with “Moments” app

October 14, 2016

Mobile messaging app LINE has launched a new standalone app called LINE Moments that lets people edit their own videos.

Available on Android, the new app allows editing via slide commands. An iPhone version of the app is to be released at a later date.

The app allows users to easily create looping videos, slow motion movies and other unique videos.

Users can shoot up to 10 seconds of footage and simply slide their finger to switch between slow motion, fast motion, looping and reverse effects, checking and editing videos right on the spot.

LINE Moments also has a plethora of filters for adding a dramatic flair and personal unique touch to movies, from filters to change color tones to the “Twins” filter (which creates a double image, as if a mirror was placed in the middle of the screen) and the “Sketch” filter (which transforms video into an animated illustration).

Users can also share the location where they filmed their movies, which can then be viewed with all other shared movies on a mapview.
