Cowabunga! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles chatbots on Kik

May 24, 2016

To promote the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, Paramount Pictures is jumping in on the chatbot craze with four bots on popular teen chat app Kik which allow users to chat with the comic book heroes.

Each chatbot has a personality based on their corresponding character, designed to reply with witty responses, fun GIFs, and, most importantly, links to the trailer for the new movie.

To start talking to the Ninja Turtles, users can message Mikey, a seriously hilarious bot who describes himself as “the dopest mutant.”

Once chatting to Miey, the user is introduced the other ‘heroes in a half shell’ Donatello, Raphael and Leonardo.

Chatting with the turtles will reveal sneak peaks of the movie and branded GIFs that can be shared with friends.

Users can also spend Kik Points to get custom Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle smileys from the Smiley Shop.

They can also tap on one of the custom smileys to be taken to the TMNT site where you can watch trailers, download stickers and chat with the rest of the Ninja Turtles.

Kik officially launched its chatbot store last month, attracting brands such as H&M, Sephora, and The Weather Channel to develop chatbots for its platform.
