Shazam expands into Poland

February 22, 2016

Shazam is to extend its business in the growing Polish market via an exclusive agreement with mobile ad company YOC.

The deal will expand the mobile music and visual recognition firm’s reach through YOC’s publisher network.

It will be using YOC’s mobile advertising technology platform and formats as well as their knowledge and skills in European markets. Details in the press release below.

Dirk Kraus, founder and member of the Management Board of YOC: “Poland is an attractive location because the demand for high quality mobile advertising products is increasing in this region. The supply side in Poland is in its infancy and we believe that there are excellent opportunities for our products in this market. We are confident that we will be able to achieve the same leading position we enjoy in other European regions, and we are delighted that Shazam will be part of our publisher portfolio from the very beginning.“

Josh Partridge, Director, EMEA/LATAM & Canada at SHAZAM: “Following the highly successful partnerships in Spain and Austria we will be working with YOC to expand our advertising strategy in Poland. In YOC we have found a technologically strong partner operating on an international basis that’s helping us to market our mobile app successfully across Europe.”

In addition to Shazam, other prestigious Polish media have already agreed to cooperate with YOC. YOC’s operations in Poland will be headed by Wojciech Nowański, Country Manager YOC Poland, whose professional experience in mobile advertising and mobile technology at Nokia and Microsoft provide him with the necessary skills and expertise to develop this market.
