Delivery deadlines: How Late Can You Leave Christmas?

December 11, 2015

How late can shoppers leave ordering gifts this year? Global courier ParcelHero has launched a new tool revealing the true ordering deadlines for the UK’s top retailers – and Argos scoops the honours from Very this year.

The new tool reveals the last order dates for most of the UK’s major online retailers, from Firebox to Harrods.

Says ParcelHero’s Head of Public Relations, David Jinks MILT: ‘While no delivery companies want to encourage last-minute deliveries, because of the risk of gifts missing Christmas Day we think it’s best to make sure customers are fully informed of the cut-off dates for placing orders.

‘That’s why we have launched our new tool that reveals the official final order dates for our major retailers and brings them all together in one handy page. We’re revealing the last order dates for an A-Z of big name stores from Agent Provocateur to Zara.’

Explains David: ‘We’ve been talking to the major retailers and have found quite a range of last delivery dates. Last year’s latest ordering deadline winners, Very, are still competitive with a 10pm cut-off on December 23, but Argos has taken the crown as it advises its same day service is still operating on the 24th. Other more traditional stores are stating their final orders are as early as the 16th.’

David adds: ‘Of course the last thing delivery companies want is a flood of last minute orders before Christmas, and we encourage people to order their gifts in good time and not risk the possibility of their gifts failing to arrive in time for Christmas. But we acknowledge there will always be a percentage of shoppers who do leave their shopping as late as possible.’

Concludes David: ‘Additionally, we know this year canny Christmas shoppers are keeping their eye on the internet to see if unsold stock from the disappointing Black Friday High Street sales will be offered at bargain prices in the final run down to Christmas. Bargain hunting is fine, but we do urge shoppers to check our Christmas page to be aware of retailers’ final delivery dates; as well as ParcelHero’s recommended parcel mailing dates and our great prices for sending gifts in the UK and abroad.’
