Tumblr has released its annual ‘Year in Review’ – a list of the top blogs, posts and topics featured on the site in 2015, revealing that ‘Pepe the Frog’ was the most reblogged meme of the year.
According to Tumblr data, Zendaya has topped the most reblogged actress list (stealing Jennifer Lawrence’s crown) and Chris Evans came in first place for the actors taking over from Benedict Cumberbatch.
In addition, the ‘most reblogged relationships’ keeps One Direction mania alive; with Louis and Harry’s bromance topping the list. Please find the top lists below and the full Year in Review here: Year in Review.
The Year in Review includes the most reblogged events, viral trends, and personalities, as well as categories that Tumblr does best like memes, fandoms, GIF art and “ships.”
The collection of content comes as a result of analyzing millions of blogs, billions of posts, and zillions of notes according to a number of factors — total volume of posts and tags (original and reblogged), notes (likes and reblogs), web traffic, follower growth over time, press recognition, and more.
“Our 2015 Year in Review showcases the scope of creativity on our platform and the special role that Tumblr plays in seeding all these great conversations on the internet,” said Danielle Strle, Tumblr’s Director of Culture and Trends. “The most creative and curious people come here for the best of the internet, and because of the inherently passionate nature of our community, the most interesting moments of conversation, culture, and artistry spread like wildfire on and off Tumblr.”
Tumblr is home to some of the most shareable, thoughtful, funniest and buzzworthy content thanks to its network of savvy creators and curators. Often times, Tumblr blogs take on a life of their own as they quickly amass a large following on and off the platform, so Tumblr celebrates these creators with its annual “Most Viral Blog” list. Diversity is a common theme on this year’s crop with everysinglewordspoken — a blog that chronicles the lack of diversity in Hollywood — topping the list among other thoughtful blogs like theatlasofbeauty, shitpeoplesaytowomendirectors, and savedbythe-bellhooks.

2015 proved to be a big year for memes on Tumblr with “The Dress” that took the world by storm. Despite the insanity around the meme, however, “The Dress” ranks only at No. 5 on the “Most Reblogged Memes” list with Pepe the Frog coming in at No. 1.

Tumblr is home to many incredibly passionate fandoms who express themselves through beautiful fanart, quirky fanfiction, hilarious gifs, and, of course, “shipping” — the act of imagining romantic relationships between two fictional characters or real-life personalities.
This year’s top “ship,” larry stylinson, is a combination of One Direction bffs, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson whose bromance the “Larries,” as the niche fandom calls itself, loves to daydream about.
