Socialbakers takes native analytics to Chinese social network Weibo

October 19, 2015

Socialbakers is working with China’s largest social network Weibo to launch a paid analytics service for businesses.

The advanced version of New Data Center is a paid product that allows brands and Weibo verified account owners to track and benchmark their social performance in their industry.

The free tool, which launched in June, has already reached the 200,000 user mark. New Data Center will benefit businesses using Weibo, who for the first time will now have access to the advanced analytics tools necessary to understand their audience and more deeply engage with them on the platform.

New Data Center can be seen as the equivalent of Facebook Insights for Weibo; it provides users with a deep dive into their follower base, content performance, engagement the ability to track trends. The product is currently available in English and Chinese.

Registered users will be able to:

· Analyze followers by age, gender, and geographic location
· Provide insights into top followers by engagement and influencers who share your content the most
· Give content analysis for both owned and other industry profiles
· Show post level insights to determine whether another brand’s post is organic or promoted
· View advanced metrics for the past 7, 30, or 90 days.
· Monitor Ad performance (this will be added in the coming months)

“Modern marketing requires data-backed decisions and an analytical approach,” said Jan Rezab, Chairman and Co-Founder of Socialbakers. “Now, marketers can bring that approach to Weibo, where they’ll be able to use data insights to take informed action.”

“In recent years, a growing number of companies have moved from traditional media such as television and newspapers to social media platforms to reach consumers. Weibo has always been the first choice for business” said Bryan Cheng, Weibo Vice President. Cheng added that the joint product would focus on Weibo Data Analysis and will help enterprise clients evaluate their advertising performance.

This launch marks the first time Socialbakers has powered native analytics on a major platform.

Verified enterprise accounts can access the paid version of New Data Center on a 30- day trial via Weibo’s platform.
