FightMe video app looks for next Ice Bucket Challenge

April 17, 2015

A new video challenge app, dubbed ‘FightMe’, has gone live, encouraging creative and passionate individuals to start a movement and join a cause.

Through a quick and simple smartphone app, FightMe makes capturing and sharing video fast, easy and relevant. Users have thirty seconds to create a video about whatever they want starting their own video challenge or joining in with an existing one.

The app which aims to place the emphasis back on the soul of content and the passion, creativity and authenticity of its users has already attracted thousands of participants during its Beta trial. With over 400 challenges currently live including High Five A Stranger, Random Acts of Kindness and inspirational videos such as What Matters to You and Food For Thought, there is something for everyone.

•Social integration with Facebook and Twitter also means that anyone can share and nominate others into any FightMe video challenges on the platform, not just their own.

•Users have to find a video challenge they want to share, play it and select the Facebook or Twitter share buttons.

•Through FightMe’s unique nomination feature, users are also prompted to take their challenge to their wider network of friends and followers using the new, powerful nomination feature via SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook or within FightMe directly.

Jamie Lorenz, Chairman and Founder of FightMe commented: “FightMe focuses on ‘real’ social interaction online. Many of us have talents or activities we would like to share or try, and simply showcasing these on Instagram, YouTube or Facebook has little purpose and can be quite intimidating. FightMe creates a friendly environment based on its ‘joining in’ mechanic, giving purpose and context to each video. Strength comes in numbers and the support of others participating in a challenge gives freedom of expression away from judgment.”

Joelle Hadfield, CEO and Co-Founder of FightMe added: “There was a distinct lack of opportunity for meaningful social interaction online – social video had become stale and shallow – so we built FightMe as a way to give purpose to video creation online. FightMe is providing a platform for individuals to not only shout about the things they are passionate about but challenging others to join in too. We are not simply providing a soapbox, we are helping users spark a movement.”

FightMe is available for free download now on all iOS platforms via the FightMe.com website or the Apple App store.

The app will also be available for download on Android devices in early 2015.
