Whisbi adds video shopping agent for Facebook brand pages

June 11, 2013

Lead management technology provider Whisbi has launched a new Facebook tool letting marketers implement a video agent to engage customers directly through their Facebook page.

Whisbi for Facebook utilizes a combination of real-time video and phone, enabling instant one-to-one communication to a video agent for online shoppers through a brand’s Facebook page.
This new, immediate, simultaneous video and phone connection allows online retailers to offer one-to-one sales assistance directly from their company Facebook page.
Facebook Fan or Company pages can now be Whisbi enabled, giving fans and page visitors the opportunity to talk directly with a sales team via telephone and video.
Customers need to enter their name and mobile number and within 5 seconds, the customer will receive a call on their mobile which coincides with a real-time video connection to a sales person.
With companies failing to demonstrate a return on investment from the social phenomenon, Whisbi’s latest venture gives brands the opportunity to sell to customers directly from its Facebook page. The innovative offering is the first of its kind and enables organisations to capitalize on the one billion regularly returning Facebook users.
“Organisations can no longer afford to spend money on social media campaigns that deliver no quantifiable return”, explains Jon Smith, Vice President Marketing, Whisbi. “Companies need to find a way to sell on the Facebook platform, rather than using Facebook to drive traffic to their corporate website, which often results in an interrupted social experience for consumers.”
Smith adds, “Facebook appears to reinvent its advertising strategy on a regular basis, they need to drive additional revenue whilst maintaining a positive user experience. So far, advertisers haven’t seen an upside, despite the massive potential the Facebook platform offers. Customer engagement is key, even more so when it comes to converting sales, but Facebook users seem reluctant to click on ads or to leave the Facebook environment.”
Smith concludes, “The logical extension to customer engagement is to introduce a visual element so that consumers can put a face to the live agents. As a result of the new product, brands are now able to up-sell and cross-sell from within the realms of Facebook, removing the need for navigation back to the corporate site to complete a sale.”
