The new feature will allow users to run ads and promote their pages as well as create ads directly from their page to attract more fans.
According to the Facebook, the Promoted Page Likes has been designed for new advertisers without having sophisticated audience targeting needs.
Initially launched in the US in December 2012, the Promoted page like ads are primarily targeted toward advertisers that are newer to Facebook and do not require sophisticated targeting.
The tool lets Page administrators access their page admin views, click on the promoted page likes panel, select a budget, and launch their campaigns.
Users can also stipulate a budget and target ads by location, city, state or country.
Promoted page like ads target audiences in locations selected by page admins, and they can run on a Facebook user’s News Feed on both mobile and desktop.
The ads are similar to traditional ads created by small and midsized businesses, which will appear on mobile or desktop to encourage users to like the pages.
Users who want to use ‘Promoted Page Likes’ can open Page admin view, click the on Promoted Page Likes panel to customise the ad campaign.
The social network also added the ads will include link to make other people to like the page easily while users can select their daily budget.
More information can be found in the blog post but Facebook provided a list of the specific features of Promoted Page Likes:
• These ads, which are exactly like the ones SMBs can create via the Ads Create process, can appear on mobile or desktop with a link that encourages people to like a business Page
• The ads are targeted to people located near the business.
• The amount brands pay to run the Page Like campaign each day depends on how many people they want to reach.
• This new way of buying an ad is very similar to promoted posts, in that the ad creation happens on the SMB’s Page. The difference is that while promoted posts are primarily aimed at engaging current fans, this new feature is aimed at attracting new fans.
• Small businesses often don’t have the time and resources to spend on creating ads in the ads create tool, so this new way will help business owners simplify the process.
