Umpf PR woos new clients with £1,000 Foursquare discount

January 27, 2011

PR and social media agency Umpf has created a new campaign offering what it claims to be ‘the UK’s most lucrative Foursquare check-in’ to mark its office move.

The agency’s social media campaign includes a tilt-shift style film http://bit.ly/umpf4sq showing its office move and the special offer – a £1,000 discount voucher.
The voucher, redeemable against the agency’s social media services, is available throughout 2011 for anyone who checks in to its new offices on Foursquare, and then Tweets the check in.
Umpf owner Adrian Johnson said: “We wanted to do something a bit different to the boring old ‘smiling-staff-in-new-offices’ photo – so true to our work we’ve added a social media layer with a unique offer which we believe is the UK’s, if not the world’s, most lucrative Foursquare special.”
Following a succession of new client wins, Umpf has also appointed two additional members of staff as the company continues to expand.
Katie Scoggins and Louise Woodward – who take the roles of Senior Account Executive and Senior Account Manager respectively – have both joined from PR agency Lucre Communications and will bolster Umpf’s consumer offer.
Umpf was founded by former Lucre Communications Board Director Adrian Johnson in August 2009. It has recently won clients including American appliance giant GE, South African vineyard leasing business Barringtons International, online travel agency PublicSectorDirect.com, as well as a project for Pakistani pop princess Annie Khalid.
Johnson added: “The business has enjoyed a successful 12 months and we have taken on larger premises into which we hope to grow this year.
“Katie and Louise are the first part of our 2011 expansion plans and I’m delighted to have two of the best people in the business join the agency.”
Louise Woodward said: “Having worked with Adrian previously at Lucre it was impossible to pass up the opportunity to be part of his new agency. Umpf had a fantastic 2010 and it is great to be working for such a creative, forward thinking and ambitious company.”
