TradeDoubler debuts first ‘affiliate app community’ with Tesco

January 26, 2011

Performance marketing company TradeDoubler has launched its Affiliate Revenue Share Community (ARC), with Tesco the first firm to sign up to the scheme.

The new scheme will provide Tesco affiliates with a suite of engaging and interactive tools and widgets with which to drive incremental sales.
TradeDoubler’s ARC platform allows developers to produce widgets, interactive creatives and other tools using Merchants’ APIs and product feeds.
These tools are made available to affiliates on the merchants’ programme enabling them to drive sales more effectively with higher conversion rates and better customer engagement.
“Following a strategic review of our online marketing, we started the year with the intention of improving our creative, to better align our marketing content with our product range in a cost effective way,” said Tim Jessop, Online Marketing Manager, Tesco. “ARC enables us to address our goals by improving the customer journey from affiliate sites and helping smaller affiliates to offer more up to date content across more products, and enabling this long-tail of affiliates to drive sales and traffic through the affiliate channel more effectively.”
Simon Burgess, UK Managing Director, TradeDoubler, commented, “ARC is akin to Apple’s App Store in as much as it allows clients to take advantage of tools and other innovative creatives, built by developers and publishers, to enable other affiliates to drive revenue and convert traffic.
“The developer of the app earns a revenue share of each commission the affiliate generates and is win-win for all concerned. This is a new concept and industry first which we believe will change the affiliate landscape. Over the coming months, ARC will be populated with programme and vertical specific apps, for example, to full shop fronts. It’s an exciting time and we’re thrilled to be launching with the full support of one of our longest standing clients, Tesco.”
Tesco ARC has successfully delivered Tesco’s brief of enhancing their creative suite by supplementing it with cutting-edge widgets that have been delivered: without internal IT resource; incorporating the expertise, innovation and entrepreneurial endeavour of the affiliate community so often overlooked; on target for Christmas 2010.
