Hotmail unveils ‘interactive email’ with Responsys

December 20, 2010

Email marketing fim Responsys is partnering with Windows Live Hotmail from Microsoft to deliver the new experiences and benefits of Active Views email messages to consumers. The new platform technology addresses security concerns by allowing senders to run code securely in their email messages.

It also protects consumers by giving them access to information on the sender’s website through forms and inline actions built directly into the email itself, keeping content refreshed and providing a more engaging and time-saving experience.
Responsys worked as an advisor to the Hotmail team, leveraging its deep email industry expertise to help design and guide the new platform and ensure an optimal user experience for its customers.
Starting this week, Active Views will be available to select partners for the pilot program.
“By partnering with Hotmail to offer Active Views for our clients, we’re helping to pioneer new email technologies and innovations to give people a more convenient and flexible way to interact with email content and services they prefer,” said Aaron Smith, Vice President of Campaign Services at Responsys.
“We are always looking to give our clients a better way to market to their customers; better for them, and better for their customers,” said Scott Olrich, Chief Marketing Officer of Responsys. “Windows Live Hotmail from Microsoft has the power to transform the email industry – by creating a much richer environment within the email itself, there is an opportunity to increase conversions, providing improved results that impact the bottom line.”
