Top 10 Beatles tracks on Shazam

November 17, 2010

Yesterday saw the historic announcement that The Beatles’ back catalogue is finally available to purchase digitally through the world’s largest music download store, iTunes. To commemorate Shazam have picked out the most tagged Beatles tracks on their mobile discovery app.

The top 10 most tagged Beatles songs on Shazam are as follows:
1. Come Together
2. Let It Be
3. Twist And Shout
4. Hey Jude
5. Here Comes The Sun
6. A Day In The Life
7. Get Back
8. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
9. Yesterday
10. Eleanor Rigby
Talk of the deal has been ongoing for years, which was originally stalled due to a long standing legal battle between Apple and The Beatles’ label, Apple Corps.
After the case was settled in 2007, many expected to see the band’s catalogue quickly added to the iTunes store. However negotiations continued between Apple and The Beatles current label EMI which have finally reached the outcome fans of the world’s biggest band have been waiting for.
An interesting upshot of this event is that we’re likely to see the Liverpudlians dominate the singles and albums chart over the next few weeks.
Which leads to the obvious question, will we see The Beatles take the Christmas number one spot? While everyone can pick their favourites, which track will hit the number one spot first is up for debate.
