Discount Vouchers site buys dot com doppelganger to protect brand

Money-saving website DiscountVouchers.co.uk has announced the acquisition of www.discountvouchers.com from Internet entrepreneur Barry Garner in a deal worth £100,000.

DiscountVouchers.co.uk has become one of the UK’s most visited voucher code websites and the acquisition of DiscountVouchers.com from Garner is designed to further support the company’s position.
Simon Terry of DiscountVouchers.co.uk, said: “Since our launch in May 2009 we have amassed a dedicated consumer following, building a strong and well recognised brand, which is now supported by over three million active subscribers. The acquisition of DiscountVouchers.com ensures that we are able to protect our brand and will allow us to continue to grow our market position.”
Generating in excess of £3m per month for the retailers that appear on its site, DiscountVouchers.co.uk works with over 500 retailers and features 2000 deals on its website each day.
The website is also developing strong partnerships across a network of retailers to secure exclusive deals for promotional activity both on its website and through social networks, with the company having more than 19,000 Facebook followers.
DiscountVouchers.co.uk is one of the UK’s leading money saving websites, offering hundreds of discounts and exclusive offers from brands such as Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Travelodge, First Choice, Lastminute.com and Boden.
