New Stream Media, the digital content partner to The O2 and indigo2, has this week announced completion of licensing deals with the four major record labels: Universal Music UK, Virgin/EMI, Warner Music UK and SonyBMG.

Deals with several independents are expected to be announced in due course.

The deals allow NSM to record and distribute live concerts from the O2 and indigo2 venues: so far, concerts by Keane, Elton John, Sugababes, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and The Cribs and are available to download via O2 Active, a mobile service provided to over five million O2 customers.

NSM’s Managing Director Abigail Hemingway stated: “Signing framework deals with the major labels allows us to approach the majority of artists coming to perform at The O2 with a compelling proposition: we shoot their show in HD, combine distribution and marketing with huge audience networks and collaborate with labels in terms of synching the content up with an existing release schedule to add value.”

The announcement follows NSM's recent deal with production company Spin TV to produce a series of events called Live @ indigo2, appearing across a number of platforms and showing on ITV2, O2 and 7digital.com among others.

Shows recorded include Paul Weller, The Courteeners, Amy MacDonald, One Night Only, The Enemy, Alphabeat, Royworld, The Zutons, The Feeling, The Fratellis, N.E.R.D., Sam Sparro and Gabriella Cilmi.  Audio tracks and videos can be downloaded exclusively from www.7digital.com
