Google has added a number of new functions to its Google Analytics service.

The search engine giant has introduced ‘Enterprise-class’ features, which include custom reports, advanced segmentation, an updated interface and integration with Google AdSense.

The update also adds support for advanced segmentation, allowing users to isolate and analyze subsets of their Web traffic, such as visitors who came through an email marketing campaign or those who can from a company buying keywords.

Once a company creates a segment for analysis, the tool can be used to compare the past behavior of that subset to the rest of the traffic on the site.

This feature can also be used in conjunction with advanced segmentation so users can have more options on how to analyze data.

Meanwhile, a new viaual tool called motion charts helps users compare data through animated charts to see how different metrics interact over time.

Finally, Google unveiled a beta of a new Google Analytics API, which lets developers pull data out of the analytics service to build new applications.
