Search marketing agency The Search Works has launched a new office in Germany for paid search marketing clients.

As part of the launch, The Search Works has appointed Markus Backs as country account director based in Munich.

Markus, who was previously head of sales at Overture Services GmbH (now Yahoo! Search Marketing) and RP Online, will be assisted in his role by Ben Gibson, new general manager for Europe, and the European implementation and editorial teams.

Commenting on Markus’ appointment, Ben Gibson said: “We’re confident that we can deliver the very best in paid search marketing services to online advertisers across all the major e-commerce sectors including retail, travel and finance.  Our focus in Germany, as in all markets, will be the quality of consultancy we offer, our transparency, premium level of service and absolute concentration on delivering return on investment for our customers.”

The Search Works already manages campaigns for Hotelopia and MSN Shopping in Germany and the new office will cater for increased demand for high-quality search expertise in the country.
