The service lets users upload digital photos and customise them via the site’s interface by overlaying a range of frames, overlays, add-ons and text.
Users can then send the ‘stamped’ photos as mobile wallpaper to their own phones or to friends for £1.50 per image, with no added subscription costs.
They can also send Stamped images for free to their personal weblogs, and store created images in a free online Stampster album.
Stampster co-founders Dominic Conlon and John Risby say that the service can be white-labelled by major brands who want to introduce alternative mobile content as promotional tools for target audiences.
Conlon said: “The market for mobile ringtones is reaching saturation point, and mobile users are exploring newer functions on their phones, like photo messaging and wallpaper, and they are looking for tools that let them personalise these functions.
