MSN to launch own paid search

The move will replace Microsoft’s previous partnership with search marketing firm Overture, owned by Yahoo!, which recently re-branded in the US as Yahoo! Search Marketing. MSN's deal with Overture currently runs until mid 2006.
MSN’s pilot program is expected to be announced at an online advertising conference on Wednesday.
Microsoft officially launched its own search engine in January this year, replacing the Inktomi technology it had licensed from Yahoo!.
Microsoft already sells some of the advertising that is linked to the search engine on MSN search. It also sells keywords for the most common search terms.
