Users can now log on at multiple PCs and still remain connected to AOL's instant messaging service, according to an AOL web page explaining the change. Like other public IM services, AOL had previously automatically disconnected a user when he or she logged on at another machine. The new feature is designed to accommodate users who want to remain connected to the internet via AOL's client software but still use the IM client for instant messaging, according to the company.
