Free firewall from AOL

AOL will from today provide a free downloadable firewall for users of its broadband service in the UK. The company said the move is part of its campaign to make surfing the internet a safer experience for all. The McAfee Personal Firewall Plus software will monitor and block attemps from hackers to access home computers, as well as keeping viruses at bay. AOL broadband services, which run on BT and NTL networks, cost £28 per month upwards.
