One last chance to enter Lovie Awards: Deadline extended to 29th July

The Lovie Awards has extended the entry deadline for its awards to 29th July 2016, offering those working in the technology, advertising and media sectors a final chance to take part in one of the biggest events of the year.

The Lovie Awards looks to honour the best of the internet across Europe, from online ads and video to mobile apps and social media.

Now in its sixth year, The Lovies are the European sister of the Webby Awards, with previous winners including Jamie Oliver, Stephen Fry, Lily Cole, Björk, the European Space Agency, and ARM Inventor Sophie Wilson.

The final deadline for this year’s entries is Friday, 29th July 2016. Entries can be made via The Lovie Award’s website under five media types:

• Websites
• Online Advertising
• Mobile & Apps
• Internet Video
• Social

New Lovie Award categories this year include a Branded Entertainment suite, Virtual Reality (in General Video & Branded Entertainment), Health & Fitness (in Mobile & Applications), Humour (in Social) and Brand Strategy (in Online Advertising Campaigns), and more.

All work is judged by Academy members representing Europe’s best and brightest in digital, taking into account the local market differences. To do so, work is accepted and judged in seven native languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Swedish.

Judges include Stephen Fry, musician Imogen Heap, Dan Howell (danisnotonfire), Chester Chipperfield (Special Projects, Apple), Alexander Ljung (Founder and CEO, SoundCloud), Elke Klinkhammer (Chief Creative Officer, McCann Worldgroup, Germany), Jane Gorley (Creative Director, Style.com), Mel Exon (Managing Director, BBH London), and Corinne Vigreux (Co-Founder, TomTom).

Entrants compete not only to win a Lovie Award and The People’s Lovie Award (fan favourite), but to deliver their Declaration of Lovie Acceptance Speech. Finalists and Winners are announced in September 2016 with a celebration also in October 2016 in London.
