RadiumOne launches real-time hashtag targeting

Ad technology firm RadiumOne has launched a cross-platform hashtag targeting capabilities, enabling advertisers to instantly target and connect with customers who show real-time interest in their brand.

RadiumOne’s social sharing products provide insight into over 10 billion proprietary sharing events each month, and are expected to break the 1 billion-user mark by 2013.
According to real-time social analytics provider, Topsy Data, the five most notable Twitter hashtags alone generated upwards of 11.7 million mentions over the last year.
For example, a brand can identify consumers who use the hashtags #nike #olympics #fitness on desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices and build a campaign with full page ad roadblocks on desktop and mobile platforms targeted to these same consumers online within milliseconds.
Similar to search advertising, brands like Nike can reach consumers by targeting hashtags based on categorized terms like #olympics, #fitness with campaigns relevant to running and athletic equipment.
“Each second, people are using social media to broadcast their feelings, preferences and opinions – these moments represent an untapped opportunity for advertisers to interact with consumers in real-time,” said Gurbaksh Chahal, CEO and founder of RadiumOne. “Our new hashtag targeting capabilities represent one of the many innovations we are delivering in programmatic advertising, providing yet another way for brands to connect in real time with people who are receptive based on their engagement with a particular subject, current event or topic of discussion.”
