Online video use in Germany soars

In March, 46.9 million Internet users in Germany viewed at least one video online, marking an an increase of 2.3 percent over the previous year, according to new research.

The study, from comScore, found that the average time per visitor increased by 33.7 percent to just under 27 hours.

Google’s top position is as expected largely attributable YouTube, because 99.7 percent of the 35.4 million visitors came to see Google Sites videos on YouTube.com.

Growing interest in mobile video across all age groups
in the 3-month average ending in March 2012 took advantage of their 3.2 million German phone to retrieve videos.
