Turner Broadcasting has appointed former MySpace UK MD Anthony Lukom as Vice President and General Manager, UK and Ireland.
Anthony will lead Turner’s entire entertainment business, including Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito, TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and Adult Swim.
Responsible for all commercial and channel activity, Anthony will spearhead strategy across programming, digital, ad sales, licensing, marketing and creative services. He will additionally head up all content syndication, such as the distribution of new Turner Broadcasting and Dreamworks Television series, Falling Skies, by Steven Spielberg.
Anthony initially joined Turner in May 2010 as Acting General Manager, and during his tenure has achieved successes across all areas of the business, including ratings and revenue increases for Turner’s entire entertainment portfolio. He reports directly into Pete Flamman, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Northern Europe.
Anthony was previously MD for MySpace UK and Head of Business Development, Europe for two and half years, responsible for running the entire UK operation. Reporting to Anthony was the Sales and Advertising team, the Creative Services team, the Marketing team and the Content team. Anthony played a key role in the development and launch of the MySpace Music Service.
Prior to MySpace, Anthony held a number of positions at AOL Europe. As Head of Business Development for AOL Europe Anthony was responsible for large advertising and content partnerships. Previously Head of Search, he was tasked with managing product innovation and revenue, working closely with Google. A qualified solicitor, Anthony began his career in corporate law.
