Russian search giant Yandex has bought The Tweeted Times a startup venture, which allows individuals to create custom online ‘newspapers” from their Twitter accounts.
Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed but according to Yandex they will continue offering a social news network and the team from The Tweeted Times will be joining the search engine.
The Tweeted Times works in a similar way to paper.li. It builds a personalised newspaper based on top Twitter trends based on who the user follows.
Yandex, which went public last May is valued at nearly $10 billion.
t has already has acquired two other companies in the past nine months such as Logniza and WebVisor’s behavior analysis technology and team.
