Special needs charity SNAP revamps website with Blue Serif

Creative and digital agency Blue Serif has created a new website for Essex based charity, SNAP (Special Needs And Parents).

Having launched this week, the new website is bright, vibrant, professional and accessible to everyone that the charity serves.

SNAP supports families with children and young people who have any special need or disability from its headquarters in Warley, Brentwood. SNAP wanted a website which would not only reflect the charity’s personality, but which would give them greater control over its functionality and ensure that it was accessible to everyone who relies on their services.

Brentwood based creative and digital agency Blue Serif were therefore tasked with creating a site which not only offers an enhanced user experience for all, but which would underpin SNAP’s core values.

SNAP’s new website has therefore been transformed from a simple brochure site into an online information portal which supports the charity’s digital strategy. Working closely with the SNAP team, Blue Serif worked alongside the charity to bring their vision of a fun, intuitive and professional website to life.

The charity required a website which would not only be visually appealing, but which would be accessible to all. Blue Serif therefore had to work closely with the SNAP team to really get to know the vital work they do, and how the users interact with the site, to make sure that it is accessible to parents, supporters, volunteers and other stakeholders.

“We wanted to move our existing site away from its previous look and feel so that it became more of an online information portal,” explains Christina Stubbs, SNAP’s Manager (Business).
“We worked closely with Blue Serif to produce a site which is visually appealing and reflects our values but – importantly – gives families the resources they need. To do this, Blue Serif had to understand the work we carry out and our unique position in the local community and the feedback we have already had from users suggests they did just that!”

Ease of use was key, and the new website, and inbuilt directory, feature key elements to aid the user experience, such as advanced search capabilities and fully responsive controls. The new website therefore offers a much cleaner user experience, yet is simultaneously bright and vivacious, in order to appeal to the families who rely on the charity’s much needed services.

Matt Barry, director of Blue Serif, said of the new site, “To be given the opportunity to work with such a great charity has been immensely rewarding and its pleasing to know that the new website will have a positive effect on the users and internal SNAP team.”
